Pandanus is a humble and grass-root material.
The pandanus itself grows near coastal areas in Indonesia where they have been exposed to extreme sun, wind, and seawater. They are durable, naturally mold-resistant, and compostable.
It has a naturally coated surface with added water-based finishing for extra protection and easy cleaning with a damp cloth. We use a specialized finishing for coloring and adding an anti-scratch layer.
The pandanus is mainly woven by female farmers from low-income households for extra earnings while taking care of their families at home.
Having the pandanus recognized on the international stage is both a joy to all of us at Sansi House and for all the artisans we partner with. Thank you!
